We have a lid that is stripped – all of our older vintage models do not have this problem (we have three other lids that are older and still intact).
Please advise – the lid in question is approximately 10-12 years old….

If that isn’t your problem, you’ll have to remove the stripped screw and replace it with a hole and a separate screw:
